Blog post 9

 I will start out by saying I am not a fan of distance learning. I am the type of person that is very sociable and hands-on so staring at a computer all day is not fun. I am the type of person that needs a schedule every day and to leave the house and be around people. I feel that distance learning makes people less motivated. When I am a teacher, I will try to make the class more interactive and fun so students actually want to come to class and participate.

Open Educational Resources are resources online that anyone can use to teach, learn, and even research. OER has no cost and does not require permission from anyone to access it. Examples of these are open textbooks, online tutorials, streaming videos, etc. The link below includes videos, descriptions, and breakdowns of a US history book.

I really enjoyed doing the 2 PowerPoint assignments. Making presentations has always been fun and came easy to me. I did not know that I could make interactive activities through PowerPoint so that was very interesting to figure out. I also did not know how to add sound to PowerPoint until these assignments.

     I have never been a fan of Twitter and I'm still not, to be honest. I don't know if it's just me, but Twitter is so confusing. I have been messing around with it a bit lately but I cannot find my way around the app yet and get lost easily. I feel that learning how to use Twitter could be beneficial for me in my future career because it will help me connect with others around the world.     The digital divide affects the student's success by making learning unfair and gives different students different opportunities and experiences. Some causes of the digital divide may include low income, low literacy, and unable to physically access technology. I would expect to have to deal with the digital divide if I were a teacher and have an idea of how I may be able to make things a little easier.  When someone has a copyright for their work, they have the right to use it or distribute it to whomever they please, and if someone uses it, they must give credit to the original owner. Fair use is a set of guidelines that allows users to copy materials for non-profit educational purposes. Fair use depends on how the work is used, how much of it is used, and how its use affects its value. As a teacher, I would have my students cite all the work they use and educate the students more on the laws and consequences of not abiding by the rules. One of the  technology implementation issues that stood out to me was lack of funding. This is because I believe you do not need money to get an education. I feel that part of a teacher's job is to be creative and come up with new ways of teaching the students.
